Perhaps it could be an issue with the portable version that I am using but several old firefox extensions did not function well or at all. I can count maybe 300 extensions and I wouldn’t say that many of the popular ones have been forked over and many of the original authors have left. I don’t understand… if there is no need to update an extension once it is published then why are so many old ones broken and even by your own admittance long abandoned Firefox extensions won’t magically run perfectly, forever. I loved the extension system of old so you of not need to convince me of that. Whilst uBlock Legacy may work fine now what happens in the future since nobody is maintaining it or developing it any further or if Raymond adds some new and useful feature, are we just expected to ignore that? Security is a constant evolving world and often times things need to be improved. Hi REX and thanks for replying to my comment. There are way too many options today that all lead to sacrifice. You could get everything done without all the fuss of today without so much sacrifice. I miss the days when you just downloaded firefox or a fork and everything was all in one place and just worked. If I did I would probably fix a few and try to port a few to make them work well on modern firefox and waterfox classic/palemoon. I wish I had taken the time to learn how to write, port and modify/fix extensions. Many of the old extensions no longer work or have conflicts these days so its not really a browser I can get behind at this point. JustOff is from Ukraine I believe so he has other problems to deal with right now but he did vanish well before the conflicts so I hope he is well. It’s nice to see such forward momentum with Pale Moon but it’s also equally disappointing to see that so many old extensions never got updated (expected) and that there is so little new ones.Ī point of fact is that uBlock Origin legacy is at a state of limbo right now because JustOff has gone AWOL as he was the repo owner entrusted by Raymond to handle the extension more than that JustOff was a great force behind Pale Moon’s extensions but since his departure it has all stalled as far as I have seen. Growing up in a predominantly southern christian town at a public high school where the teachers were pretty open about their beliefs and most students were involved in a church, or at least claimed to be Christian, it was really hard to be faced with opposite views this first year at a public university. Many times in college we have events that make us question our faith. Like there's some sort of glow emanating from the very idea of bonfires, road trips, and beaches. It will always seem like there is some sort of unattainable ideal surrounding it. I'll be surprised if I don't think so for the rest of my life. I know, no matter what, that I'll be regretting how I wasted my summer again next year. I've romanticized the idea so much that I am left feeling disappointed in myself for not taking advantage of a season. I've always wanted summer to be some big, monumental, exciting thing. We always over-book ourselves, so when it finally ends, we look back and things are a blur. I didn't take up a new hobby or go on a road trip. I didn't see any of my friends from high school this summer. The trickiest part isn't always the driving itself, but confusing the turn signal with the windshield wipers.Īdmittedly, The Office and Friends are both wonderful ways to spend time, but they aren't things that I'm excited about. After driving in car where the steering wheel is on the right in Japan, it can be difficult to adjust back to driving a car in the States. They drive on opposite sides of the street.Īlthough it may seem to be an obvious difference, it can be tricky adjusting to the other side. Although both Jersey and Japan have gas station attendants that help to pump your gas for you, their functions are quite different. On the flip side, drivers in Jersey often get upset and frustrated, which is something I wasn't excited to return to after leaving Japan. Rather than getting upset when driving in rush hour traffic, everyone sucks it up and understands that we are all in the same boat and there's nothing that can be done but wait it out. In Japan, the drivers expect traffic and have pretty much come to terms with it. ![]() Everyone's overall attitude about traffic is different. |
